Fleuron 2006 from Pierre Gimonnet is the champagne which is most representative of the style of this champagne house.
Only made in the very best of vintages, this cuvee can represent up to half of the domain’s production to honor an exceptional year. The blend contains a large proportion of Grand Cru Chardonnays from the terroir of Chouilly, completed by Chardonnays from the terroir of Cuis, which give the unique Gimonnet style.
A great vintage should always be a pleasure, a balance between concentration, finesse and elegance. The acidity of our Premier Cru terroirs gives freshness, and superb ageing potential to our vintage champagnes.
Each year the proportions from each parcel that enter into the blend vary in order to perpetuate our own style.
This Fleuron is very Grand Cru, with proportions that favour Chouilly and Cramant, but the blend is nevertheless well balanced across our different origins.
Note that this is the first vintage of Fleuron that has included wines from the Oger terroir…. which has added complexity and certainly a greater vinosity.
