Why is champagne better in a jeroboam?

If the magnum of champagne is considered the king of formats, the jeroboam is often seen as an exceptional piece. Its rarity makes it a bottle that stands out!

Jeroboam in Champagne: a majestic format

Among the champagne bottles, the jeroboam is particularly impressive. With its capacity of 3 liters, equivalent to 4 bottles of 75 cl, it is often reserved for large occasions and important celebrations. A symbol of festivity and grandeur, the jeroboam of champagne is often used in prestigious events.

Optimal conservation and maturation

Beyond its festive aspect, the jeroboam offers undeniable oenological qualities. Its large capacity allows for better wine conservation. The important volume favors a slower and more harmonious maturation of the aromas, which gives birth to champagnes of great complexity and exceptional richness.

As with the magnum, the secret lies in the cork. You will have noticed that all champagne bottles, from the 37.5 cl format to the Methuselah (6 l), use a cork of identical size. This element plays a crucial role in the evolution of the wine, as the exchange of air between the inside and the outside of the bottle takes place through the cork. With a cork of the same size for all bottles, the volume of air exchanged remains constant, which influences the quality of the wine according to the size of the bottle.

A visual and festive impact

For big occasions, the jeroboam creates a spectacular visual effect. Its imposing size attracts attention and adds a touch of grandeur to your celebrations. Whether it's for a wedding, a birthday party or a corporate event, a jeroboam of champagne is always an elegant choice. With its 3 liters, the jeroboam bottle of champagne is ideal for large gatherings. ??

How to serve a jeroboam of Champagne?

Ideal for wine conservation, the jeroboam of champagne is perfect for all your festive moments. It is recommended to put the jeroboam in the refrigerator at least 24 to 48 hours in advance to allow the wine to cool down completely before serving it between 9 and 11°C.

It is generally estimated that between 25 and 30 flutes can be served with a jeroboam, enough to delight a small group of friends!

A jeroboam is generally more expensive than the equivalent of 4 bottles of 75 cl. This price difference can be explained by the low quantity of jeroboams produced by the winemakers and by the fact that these bottles have a much higher production cost.

In summary, the jeroboam is the king of the cellar. With an ideal capacity, the Champagne jeroboam will allow you to age and improve your champagne in the cellar for many years.
