Located in Epernay, the house of Alfred Gratien is one of the sure values of Champagne. It is one of the few to vinify its wines exclusively in oak barrels, which brings a great aromatic richness. In order to preserve the tension specific to Champagnes, the malolactic fermentations are blocked. The aromas are sharp and clear. Another particularity of the house, the aging of the wines is done under cork stopper, in order to once again privilege the development of the flavors.
The cellar master, Nicolas Jaeger, elaborates a gourmet and precise range at the same time, from the 3 traditional grape varieties of the region: Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Thanks to his know-how, he extracts the quintessence of each grape variety. At the tasting, we find this common thread that combines tension and aromatic expression. The Brut Classique is a success, vinous and fresh at the same time, a model in its kind. The Brut Rosé is gourmet, dense, just what is needed to accompany a beautiful gastronomy. The tasting continues with the vintage cuvées, masterpieces of precision, with immense aging potential. Finally, the Cuvée Paradis displays a unique aromatic depth and offers a unique quality/price ratio.
