The Vintage 2008 Limited Edition by Alfred Gratien is an exceptional cuvée, combining freshness, precision, and purity. This unique vintage, which has reached perfect maturity, celebrates the heritage of the house. It offers incredible aromatic richness.
The Vintage 2008 Limited Edition is made from a blend of 56% Chardonnay, 23% Pinot Meunier and 21% Pinot Noir. The grapes are sourced exclusively from premier and grand cru vineyards. The 2008 harvest, marked by unpredictable weather but balanced by a dry, sunny summer, allowed the grapes to ripen slowly and fully. This harvest produced wines of remarkable freshness and exceptional aromatic complexity.
This vintage is vinified in small 228-liter oak barrels, an iconic tradition at Alfred Gratien. This vinification and aging process enhances the structure and texture of the wines. True to its style, Alfred Gratien blocks malolactic fermentation to preserve the natural acidity and purity of the grapes. After extended aging in the cellar, each bottle is numbered, marking the uniqueness of this limited edition.
The 2008 Limited Edition Vintage has a bright golden yellow color, adorned with a fine and persistent effervescence, forming an elegant collar.
The nose is complex and exotic, revealing aromas of pineapple, yellow peach, mimosa and vanilla, enriched by hints of cashew and coconut.
On the palate, the attack is lively and dynamic, followed by a full and silky texture. The salty and chalky finish is remarkably long, offering a sensation of purity and elegance.
The price of a bottle of Alfred Gratien Vintage 2008 Limited Edition is €160. This cuvée, produced in a limited edition of just 1,600 numbered bottles, reflects the excellence of the house.
