The Brut Millésimé 2015 from Alfred Gratien is a powerful yet harmonious cuvée. It is a champagne that combines the complexity and vinosity characteristic of the Alfred Gratien style with the freshness of the 2015 vintage.
The Brut Millésimé 2015 is a blend of 50% Chardonnay, 25% Pinot Noir and 25% Pinot Meunier. The 2015 vintage, marked by a hot, dry summer, allowed the grapes to ripen optimally, offering a perfect balance between aromatic richness and freshness.
Each grape variety is vinified separately in small 228-liter oak barrels to develop the wine's aromatic complexity and structure. True to its philosophy, Alfred Gratien preserves the natural tension of the grapes by blocking malolactic fermentation. After a decade of aging in the cellars of the house, the 2015 Brut Millésimé reveals its full potential, enhanced by a subtle dosage that respects the purity of the vintage.
The cuvée is distinguished by a bright golden color, enlivened by a fine, regular effervescence. A thin string of bubbles on the surface attests to its freshness and elegance.
The nose is powerful and evolving, revealing aromas of yellow fruit, toasted almonds, and vanilla. With aeration, notes of blond tobacco and mirabelle plum jam enrich this complex bouquet.
On the palate, the attack is broad and generous. The vinosity and creamy texture are balanced by a lively freshness. The long, tangy finish reveals notes of stewed fruit and pastries.
The price of a bottle of Alfred Gratien Brut Millésimé 2015 is 72,95 €. This cuvée, produced in small quantities and aged for a decade, embodies the craftsmanship and excellence of the Alfred Gratien house.
