Description
The Brut Classique from Alfred Gratien is the house's signature cuvée. It is a champagne that blends fruity notes, delicious aromas from oak aging, and a touch of freshness.
The Brut Classique is a blend dominated by Chardonnay (46%), which offers lightness and freshness, while Pinot Meunier (30%) brings its fruity presence. Pinot Noir completes this blend and provides a beautiful structure.
This cuvée is vinified and aged in small 228-liter oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation is not carried out in order to preserve freshness and maximize aging potential. The dosage is Brut, around 9g/l.
The Brut Classique Alfred Gratien has a light yellow color dotted with fine, rapid bubbles.
The nose reveals complex notes of biscuits, pastries and white fruits, which then evolve into aromas of citrus, white flowers and fresh butter.
On the palate, Brut Classique offers a clean attack, followed by chalky, mineral notes with a lovely lightness.
The finish is clean with good length.
This is an ideal cuvée for a cocktail reception, especially with savory or sweet petits fours.
