The Paradis Rosé 2008 cuvée derives its complexity and balance from its blend of 63% Chardonnay and 37% Pinot Noir. The grapes are vinified in small 228-liter oak barrels, according to the method and style cherished by the Alfred Gratien house.
The cellar master blocks malolactic fermentation to preserve the natural freshness of the grapes and highlight the purity of the vintage. The 2008 vintage, marked by exceptional ripeness thanks to a cool, late season, offers wines of remarkable tension and great finesse. After extended aging on fine lees, the 2008 Paradis Rosé cuvée was bottled and then placed in the cellars of the house to develop its aromatic complexity.
This champagne is distinguished by a salmon color with light copper highlights. The effervescence is fine and persistent.
The complex and expressive nose reveals autumnal notes of candied fruit, toasted bread and caramel. With aeration, aromas of candied mandarin, precious wood and tonka bean further enrich this remarkable bouquet.
On the palate, the attack is lively and precise, supported by fresh acidity and creamy effervescence. The texture, both tight and tender, blends flavors of chalk, salinity, and slight bitterness for a long and elegant finish.
The price of a bottle of Paradis Rosé 2008 Alfred Gratien is 91,95 €. This exceptional cuvée, produced in limited quantities, reflects the unique expertise of the Alfred Gratien house.
