The Carte Jaune magnum perfectly illustrates Veuve Clicquot's art of blending. This non-vintage cuvée is based on a rigorous selection of 50 to 60 crus, offering a rich and complex aromatic palette. Pinot Noir, which accounts for 50 to 55% of the blend, brings structure and power. Chardonnay (28 to 33%) adds finesse and elegance, while Meunier (15 to 20%) brings a touch of roundness for perfect balance.
A significant proportion of reserve wines, up to 45%, is incorporated into the blend. These wines, sometimes aged for up to 30 years, bring depth and continuity to the distinctive style of Veuve Clicquot. The minimum aging period of 30 months in the cellar, well above the appellation standards, allows the champagne to develop remarkable complexity and maturity. With a balanced dosage of 9 g/L, this cuvée perfectly combines liveliness and structure, while retaining great freshness.
Veuve Clicquot Carte Jaune in magnum has a bright color with golden highlights and a fine, generous mousse, promising beautiful freshness and a vinous character.
On the nose, this cuvée reveals aromas of yellow fruits such as peach and pear, accompanied by notesof citrus and sweet spices. Subtle hints of brioche and dried fruit add complexity to the whole.
On the palate, the attack is lively and refreshing, with fruity flavors dominated by pear and peach. The finish reveals a subtle minerality and beautiful length, typical of Veuve Clicquot's powerful and structured style.
The magnum is often considered the ideal format for storing champagne. Thanks to a lower air-to-wine ratio, aging is slower, allowing complex aromas to develop while preserving freshness. The magnum is also perfect for celebrations, adding a festive touch to any occasion. A magnum serves approximately 12 flutes.
