While the houses compete for the favors of the most beautiful tables in the world and the greatest chefs, this confidence from Marie-Christine Osselin, responsible for the quality and communication of Moët & Chandon wines, has had the effect of a small bomb. While dining at Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong (2 Michelin stars), she told reporters at The Drink Business that fries were one of the best pairings she has ever had with champagne !

And Marie-Christine Osselin explains that the saltiness and crunchiness of the fries ideally match the freshness of sparkling wine. However reassuring those who swear by truffles or lobster, she conceded "Of course, there are exceptions to the rule if you go for high-end dishes".

Phew, we can always combine caviar and fine bubbles !
