Charles-Henri and Emmanuel FOURNY, fifth-generation winemakers, took over the family estate in 1993. Close partners who complement each other—as they like to point out—these two brothers craft fresh, unpretentious champagnes that reflect the complexity of the terroirs from which they come. Emmanuel is the winemaker at Maison Veuve Fourny and oversees the vineyards and winemaking. Charles-Henri, meanwhile, oversees the estate’s operations, assisted by their mother, Madame FOURNY. Their vineyards, located in the Premier Cru village of Vertus (Côte des Blancs), are planted on a variety of soils and exposures, creating a true patchwork of terroirs and expressions.
The Cuvée Grands Terroirs showcases all of Maison Veuve Fourny’s expertise with its blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Cuvée Blanc de Blancs, meanwhile, is crafted from hand-harvested Chardonnays grown on old vines over 40 years old from various plots within the Vertus Premier Cru terroir. It is characterized by exceptional elegance and great purity. The Cuvée R pays homage to one of the House’s founders, Roger Fourny, and to the House’s unique expertise in traditional winemaking methods.
