      Description

Clos Notre-Dame 2014 is a Blanc de Blancs champagne from a unique and prestigious vineyard in Champagne. It is an ideal champagne for aperitifs but can also accompany gourmet dishes. This cuvée is distinguished by its purity and finesse.

The production of Clos Notre-Dame 2014 Veuve Fourny

Clos Notre-Dame 2014 comes from Clos Faubourg Notre-Dame, a family monopoly owned by the Fourny family in Vertus, a Premier Cru classified terroir. Covering just 0.29 hectares, this exceptional terroir combines optimal exposure, a unique microclimate, and remarkable chalky subsoil. The vines, which are on average 60 years old, produce grapes of exceptional quality.

The 2014 vintage in Champagne, particularly on the Côte des Blancs, was marked by contrasting weather conditions. After a mild and early spring, the summer turned out to be cool and wet, causing concern among winegrowers. Fortunately, a particularly sunny September allowed the grapes to reach optimal ripeness, offering an excellent balance between acidity and aromatic richness. The 2014 vintage is distinguished by its vibrant freshness and mineral tension characteristic of the chalky terroirs of this region. 2014 is considered a vintage of great precision, offering promising aging potential.

The Clos Notre Dame is vinified in oak barrels, using only the first pressings. The wine is then aged for seven months on its lees. The 2014 vintage is bottled and then transferred to the estate's historic cellars, where it will age for nine years on its lees. Finally, the champagne is lightly dosed, Extra Brut, with only 3 g/L.
