The Making of Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial Champagne in Magnum
The Brut Impérial, created for the first time in 1869, is an iconic cuvée that reflects all the richness of the Champagne terroirs. Crafted from more than 200 selected crus, this harmonious blend is composed of 30 to 40% Pinot Noir for structure, 30 to 40% Pinot Meunier which brings roundness, and 20 to 30% Chardonnay for finesse and elegance.
To ensure exceptional consistency and complexity, 20 to 30% reserve wines are added. The Brut Impérial is dosed at 9 g/L, offering a perfect balance between freshness and maturity. This precise dosage gives this cuvée an unparalleled vivacity and generosity, embodying the unique style of Moët & Chandon.
Tasting the Cuvée
Color
The luminous golden color of this champagne is enhanced by subtle green touches. The fine and persistent bubbles create a delicate cord, highlighting the finesse of this cuvée.
Nose
On the nose, the Brut Impérial in magnum reveals intense aromas of crisp apple, pear, and white peach, accompanied by notes of citrus and a floral touch of linden. Nuances of brioche and nuts add depth and elegance.
