A rigorous selection of grape varieties
Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial is made from a trilogy of iconic grape varieties:
- Pinot Noir (30-40%): this grape variety gives the cuvée its structure and intensity. It is mainly sourced from the terroirs of the Montagne de Reims and the Aube, renowned for their power and complexity.
- Pinot Meunier (30-40%): this brings a silky texture and roundness on the palate. It is mainly harvested in the Marne Valley, where it flourishes on clay-limestone soils.

A precise blend and masterful winemaking
Moët & Chandon applies centuries-old expertise to preserve the authenticity and consistency of its Brut Impérial. The juices are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats to preserve their aromatic purity and reveal the full richness of the Champagne terroirs. Optimal aging for perfect expression
After blending, Brut Impérial is left to rest for around 24 months on its lees in Moët & Chandon's historic cellars in Épernay. This maturation process develops the champagne's secondary aromas, giving it its brioche notes and silky texture.
