How Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial champagne is made

Created in 1869, Brut Impérial is the perfect reflection of the Moët & Chandon style: a harmonious blend of aromatic richness, elegance and consistency. Its production is based on a meticulous blend of over 200 crus, selected from the finest terroirs in Champagne.

An exceptional blend

This cuvée is based on a trilogy of iconic grape varieties, offering incomparable aromatic diversity:

• Pinot Noir (30-40%): brings structure and intensity, with grapes from the Montagne de Reims andAube terroirs, renowned for their power and depth.
• Pinot Meunier (30-40%): round and supple, from the sunny hillsides of the Marne Valley.
• Chardonnay (20-30%): infuses incomparable freshness and finesse, typical of Côte des Blancs grands crus.

Careful vinification and controlled ageing

Each grape variety is vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, to preserve their purity and aromatic identity. Low-temperature fermentation ensures optimum freshness and precision.

The blend is enriched by 20-30% reserve wines, ensuring complexity and consistency vintage after vintage.

Finally, 24 months ' ageing on the lees allows the aromas to gain in depth, before disgorging followed by 9 g/L dosage, perfectly balancing vivacity and generosity.

  A luminous gold color with amber highlights, illuminated by a ballet of fine, persistent bubbles.

• Nose

  A dazzling bouquet of golden apples, juicy pears and citrus fruits, accompanied by subtle notes of white flowers and toasted bread.
