The creation of Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial champagne

Created in 1869, Brut Impérial perfectly reflects the Moët & Chandon style: a harmonious blend of aromatic richness, elegance, and consistency. It is made from a meticulous blend of over 200 crus selected from the finest terroirs in Champagne.

An exceptional blend

This cuvée is based on a trilogy of iconic grape varieties, offering unparalleled aromatic diversity:

• Pinot Noir (30-40%): it brings structure and intensity, with grapes from the Montagne de Reims andAube terroirs, renowned for their power and depth.
• Pinot Meunier (30-40%): it confers roundness and suppleness, sourced from the sunny slopes of the Marne Valley.
• Chardonnay (20-30%): this brings incomparable freshness and finesse, typical of the grands crus of the Côte des Blancs.

Careful vinification and controlled aging

Each grape variety is vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats to preserve its purity and aromatic identity. Fermentation at low temperatures ensures optimal freshness and precision.

Between 20 and 30% of reserve wines are added to the blend, ensuring complexity and consistency from vintage to vintage.

Finally, 24 months of aging on lees allows the aromas to gain depth, before disgorging followed by a dosage of 9 g/L, perfectly balancing liveliness and generosity.

  The color is a bright gold dotted with amber highlights and illuminated by a ballet of fine, persistent bubbles.

• Nose

  The nose reveals a vibrant bouquet of golden apple, juicy pear and citrus, accompanied by subtle notes of white flowers and toasted bread.

  The palate opens with a fruity and full attack, followed by a lovely freshness. Aromas of white peach, brioche, and vanilla round out this balanced and elegant tasting experience.
