Bollinger's Special Cuvée, offered here in Methuselah and delivered in wooden cases, is the purest expression of the style of one of Champagne's oldest houses.

The blend of this cuvée is remarkably consistent, and is distinguished from other champagnes by the addition of 10% reserve wine fermented in oak barrels, giving it a vinous aspect that is unique to Bollinger.

Few Champagne houses can match Bollinger's undisputed reputation. Seriousness and consistency have been Bollinger's greatest assets since the early 19th century, and the Spécial Cuvée is proof of this: a blend of predominantly Pinot Noir grapes (60% minimum) from several years, it asserts itself, in an edgy, full-bodied and beautifully fresh style, as the very type of "simple" brut non-vintage of great character and seduction. A success story that never fails.

The Special Cuvée de Bollinger has a beautiful pale golden yellow color, with fine, generous bubbles.

The nose reveals superb aromatic notes of apple, ripe apricot and citrus, followed by toast, brioche and hazelnut.

The palate is vinous, with the Chardonnay bringing finesse and freshness, the Pinot Noir roundness and body, and the fruitiness of the nose returning as the wine evolves.

The finish is long, fresh and pleasant.
