After studying engineering and oenology, Rémi Leroy returned to his family's 9-hectare estate in Meurville on the Côte des Bar. This particular Aube terroir, with its clay-limestone soils, gives the wines their distinctive character. Rémi's objective is simple: to obtain ripe, healthy, concentrated fruit. Fermentation takes place in small stainless steel vats and oak barrels, with as little intervention as possible. Rémi uses no fining or filtration on these wines, and his winemaking style evolves with him as he meets new people and develops new aspirations.
Cuvée Extra-Brut is one of Maison Rémi Leroy's flagship cuvées. This cuvée, composed of Pinot Noir (60%), a third of Chardonnay (35%) and a touch of Meunier (5%), originates from the Meurville terroir in the Côte des Bar region, where the vines are planted some twenty years ago. Rémi's viticulture on this unique soil produces fruit and juices of remarkable typicity. His Brut Nature version is based on the same blend, with two differences: it benefits from a special bottle ageing process, and its ageing is extended. As for the Blanc de Blancs 2017, it reveals a beautiful minerality.
