The production of R de Ruinart Seconde Peau champagne in magnum bottles
R de Ruinart champagne in magnum with Seconde Peau packaging is a perfect illustration of the art of Champagne blending. Made from the three traditional Champagne grape varieties—Pinot Noir (40 to 45%), Pinot Meunier (10 to 15%), and Chardonnay (40%)—this champagne balances power, fruitiness, and freshness. The grapes come from 40 to 50 crus located mainly in the prestigious terroirs of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, ensuring unique aromatic diversity.
R de Ruinart in magnum is vinified in stainless steel vats to preserve the freshness and tension of the Champagne grapes. Malolactic fermentation is then carried out to soften the wines and give them a creamy, smooth texture. Aged in the cellars for two to three years, this champagne develops beautiful aromatic complexity. With a precise dosage of 7g/L, it offers perfect harmony between roundness and liveliness, making the R de Ruinart magnum an ideal choice for aperitifs and gourmet meals.
Tasting notes
Appearance
On the eye, R de Ruinart champagne in magnum reveals a brilliant golden color that embodies the richness and elegance of this cuvée, enhanced by the large format. The fine, lively bubbles create a persistent cordon, accentuating the impression of luxury and refinement.
Nose
The nose of this magnum champagne is complex and expressive, revealing fruity aromas such as apple and apricot, enhanced by notes of dried fruits such as almond and hazelnut. Floral nuances of elderflower add a delicate touch, while notes of brioche and biscuit add a gourmand dimension typical of the Ruinart style.
Palate
On the palate, the R de Ruinart magnum offers a full and round attack. In the mid-palate, flavors of yellow fruit, plum tart, and stone fruit emerge, evolving towards a fresh and invigorating finish characteristic of Chardonnay, bringing a harmonious and balanced finish.
The advantages of the magnum
The magnum format, containing 1.5 liters of champagne, equivalent to two bottles, offers many advantages. Due to its larger volume, champagne in magnums ages more slowly, allowing for better preservation of aromas and more harmonious maturation. In addition, the magnum is ideal for special occasions, serving around 12 glasses. It is the perfect format for celebrations and moments of sharing. Finally, a magnum always impresses with its presence on a table, adding a touch of prestige and elegance to any reception.
