De Venoge's Magnum Princes Tour Eiffel is a monumental collector's item, a majestic format to celebrate the "Iron Lady." Released to mark the 130th anniversary of the Eiffel Tower, this cuvée, presented in its luxurious box, pays vibrant tribute to the House's historic partnership during the 1889 World's Fair. In this large 1.5-liter bottle, the perfect balance between the three Champagne grape varieties is expressed with tenfold richness and freshness. It is the champagne for grand celebrations, combining the architectural elegance of the bottle with the finesse of a wine of noble lineage.
The blend of this Magnum is a model of balance, respecting an equal split: 33% Pinot Noir, 33% Pinot Meunier, and 34% Chardonnay. This harmony is the result of a rigorous selection process from among the best vintages, designed to offer a wine that is complex, light, and structured. The Magnum format allows the wine to develop more slowly, promoting perfect integration of the bubbles and a creamier texture.
The grapes come from a mosaic of terroirs chosen for their complementary qualities: Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims brings body, selected Meuniers offer fruitiness and roundness, while Chardonnays from the Côte des Blancs ensure liveliness and elegance. This diversity of vintages allows for the creation of an "architectural" wine, reflecting the monument it celebrates.
The vinification process is precise, focused on preserving freshness. The dosage is adjusted to 6 g/L (Brut), highlighting the wine's natural finesse without excessive embellishment. The Magnum format plays a key role here: with twice the volume of wine for the same neck, gas exchange is reduced, slowing down aging and preserving a vibrant youthfulness for longer.
Although not vintage, this cuvée is a limited edition created specifically for the 130th anniversary of the Eiffel Tower (1889-2019). It captures the festive and innovative spirit of the Belle Époque. The unique design of the bottle, reminiscent of the crystal decanters used by the aristocracy in the early 20th century, makes it a rare object, all the more impressive in Magnum format.
The pale gold color is bright and fluid. In this large format, the effervescence is particularly fine, forming a light, abundant and persistent mousse.
The nose is complex and delicate, more open than in the bottle. It reveals scents of white flowers, fresh citrus and yellow fruits, with a subtle biscuity touch in the background.
On the palate, the wine offers a frank and distinguished attack. The body is full, carried by a floral liveliness that lingers on the finish. The balance between the freshness of Chardonnay and the roundness of the black grape varieties is magnified by the silky texture characteristic of the Magnum.
The Magnum is the ideal size for storage. Protected by its box, it should be stored lying down in a cool (10-12°C), dark cellar. This large bottle ensures superior thermal stability, allowing the wine to age gracefully over the years.
Thanks to the "Magnum factor," this cuvée has a longer aging potential than a standard bottle. The Princes Tour Eiffel cuvée is ready to drink today to enjoy its floral liveliness. However, it can be stored in the cellar for 3 to 8 years, where it will gain a little roundness while retaining its distinction.
Serve this Magnum well chilled, between 44°F and 46°F. As the volume of the glass is larger, be sure to chill it sufficiently in advance. Serve in tulip glasses to concentrate the delicate aromas.
