The production of Grand Brut Perrier-Jouët champagne

The Grand Brut cuvée is a blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Meunier, and 20% Chardonnay. These three iconic Champagne grape varieties come together to create a rich and balanced champagne.

To ensure a consistent style, Cellar Master Séverine Frerson carefully selects around fifty crus from the best terroirs of the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Côte des Blancs. Up to 15% of reserve wines are added to the blend to add complexity and depth.

With a dosage of 8 to 10 g/l, the Grand Brut offers subtle sweetness. Aged for at least three years in Perrier-Jouët's historic cellars, this champagne reaches perfect maturity while retaining great freshness.

Historical heritage

Introduced in 1846, Grand Brut was the first champagne cuvée to significantly reduce its sugar dosage to suit the preferences of British connoisseurs. This innovation defined the "Brut" category as we know it today.
