Discover Palmer & Co's La Réserve magnum, an exceptional champagne combining precision, freshness, and maturity.
Palmer & Co's La Réserve cuvée, available here in magnum format, is a model of balance and elegance. Composed of 50-55% Chardonnay, 30-35% Pinot Noir and 20-25% Meunier, it also includes a significant proportion of reserve wines, representing 30-35% of the blend. This unique composition ensures remarkable consistency and complexity over the years.
The grapes used for La Réserve come from the best terroirs of the Montagne de Reims, a region renowned for the quality of its Grands and Premiers Crus. Palmer & Co benefits from the cooperation of more than 300 partner winegrowers, cultivating vines on approximately 400 hectares. This diversity allows us to select the best grapes for each cuvée, thus guaranteeing optimal quality.
The vinification of La Réserve is distinguished by a rigorous process that respects Champagne traditions. The wines are aged on lees for 5-6 years in magnums, giving the champagne exceptional depth and aromatic richness. The dosage is kept at 6-7 g/L to ensure perfect harmony between freshness and roundness.
Palmer & Co is renowned for its elegant and precise style, a timeless signature that is fully expressed in La Réserve. Under the direction of cellar master Xavier Berdin, the house combines traditional methods and modern innovations, resulting in champagnes of remarkable finesse. The reserve wines, from the "perpetual reserve," add an extra dimension of complexity and consistency.
La Réserve has a bright golden color with fine, persistent bubbles, a sign of long maturation on lees.
On the nose, this champagne reveals aromas of citrus, pear, and apricot, complemented by subtle notes of hazelnut and pastry. This aromatic complexity is the result of a skillful blend and extended aging.
On the palate, La Réserve seduces with its freshness and balance. Fruity and pastry flavors blend harmoniously, offering a texture that is both succulent and full-bodied. This is a structured yet elegant champagne, ideal for pairing with a variety of dishes.
The magnum of La Réserve by Palmer & Co is priced at around $90.00 per bottle. It is available individually or in boxes of three magnums.
Palmer & Co is known for its commitment to sustainability and quality. All reserve wines are produced using a "perpetual reserve" system, a method inspired by Jerez aging techniques, ensuring unique consistency and complexity. In addition, the Chardonnay used comes mainly from the Montagne de Reims, a region more often associated with Pinot Noir, illustrating Palmer & Co's innovation and daring.
Customer reviews of La Réserve are overwhelmingly positive. Many highlight the excellent value for money, the finesse of the bubbles, and the perfect balance between freshness and complexity. Some enthusiasts particularly appreciated the fruity and pastry aromas, as well as the long finish, describing this champagne as the perfect choice for special occasions and more intimate moments of enjoyment.
Tasting
By Patrick BorrasThe Brut Réserve cuvée from Palmer & Co has a light yellow color with bright golden highlights. Its bubbles are fine and scattered.
This wine has a very pleasant nose, offering floral and fruity aromas. There are also notes of white flowers and lime blossom, which evolve into hints of citrus (lemon).
The attack on the palate is very fresh and lively, revealing fresh, mineral aromas that bring beautiful harmony to the cuvée. This is a pleasant champagne thanks to its skillful balance between complexity and freshness.
The Brut Réserve cuvée is absolutely perfect as an aperitif. I recommend serving it at a temperature of 8° to 9°C.
