Discover the Grande Reserve of Champagne Gosset, a champagne that perfectly illustrates the know-how and authenticity of this historic house, the oldest wine house in Champagne, founded in 1584. This cuvée is a true masterpiece of winemaking, combining tradition and innovation to offer a unique tasting experience.
The house of Gosset stands out with its unique style, characterized by powerful, vinous and balanced champagnes. The Grande Reserve reflects this heritage with its aromatic complexity and elegance, making it an essential cuvée for champagne lovers.
The Grande Reserve is an exquisite blend of 45% Chardonnay and 45% Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Meunier. Part of this blend includes reserve wines that add a beautiful patina. This subtle combination gives the cuvée a great personality and a perfect harmony. The Pinots contribute a delicate fruitiness and a robust structure, while the Chardonnay adds freshness and finesse.
At Gosset, vinification is an art. The wines do not undergo malolactic fermentation, thus preserving their freshness and vivacity. After bottling in the spring following the harvest, the champagnes are aged in the cellars for a minimum of four years. This meticulous process develops rich aromas and a silky texture, characteristic of Gosset champagnes.
Under the expert guidance of Odilon de Varine, cellar master since 2006, each bottle of Grande Reserve benefits from meticulous attention. His expertise guarantees a consistent quality and a faithful expression of the Gosset style.
The Gosset Grande Reserve presents a luminous and golden robe, enhanced by a fine cord of light bubbles, a sign of its elegance and finesse.
The nose is marked by aromas of flowers and fruits mixed with toasted notes. One can detect nuances of jonquil, linden blossom, cherry and blackberry. As it warms, the wine reveals aromas of lemon meringue pie, mirabelle plum, prunes, as well as honeyed and toasted touches.
On the palate, the Grande Reserve is ample and concentrated, with aromas of dried fig and candied cherry, followed by notes of grilled almond and rusks. Its vinous structure is supported by a fine acidity carried by citrus fruits, offering a long and powerful finish.
To fully appreciate the Grande Reserve, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature of 8 to 10°C. This versatile champagne is ideal for the aperitif, but also pairs perfectly with refined dishes such as gougères, cheese pastries, pâté en croûte, pot-au-feu, creamed poultry, as well as cheeses like Comté or Parmesan.
Opting for the Gosset Grande Reserve means choosing a prestigious champagne, crafted with passion and expertise. It is the ideal cuvée to celebrate great occasions or to offer an exceptional gift to a champagne connoisseur.
