Located in the village of Cumières, on the right bank of the Marne River a few kilometers from Epernay, Maison de Champagne Georges Laval is one of the most exclusive and respected properties in Champagne. Now run by Vincent Laval, the house has been perpetuating a philosophy based on organic viticulture since 1971. Vincent passionately cultivates 3.5 hectares of vines, mainly located on the magnificent terroirs of Cumières, Hautvillers, and Damery. In the cellar, the work is guided by the principle of minimal intervention: fermentation in barrels or demi-muids, indigenous yeasts, very low or even non-existent dosages, and long aging on lees.
Georges Laval cuvées are available in very limited quantities (20,000 bottles are produced each year). These are confidential cuvées with a unique style, faithfully reflecting the terroirs of Cumières. The Cumières Premier Cru Brut Nature cuvée is the house's flagship cuvée. It is a blend of the three main Champagne grape varieties, vibrant, precise and deeply complex. As for the Les Garennes 13-23 cuvée, it stands out as the freest and most lively expression of the Laval style. A blend of clear wines from ten years, aged in barrels and combining the three Champagne grape varieties. A cuvée of rare harmony, blending fruit, freshness, structure, and salinity.
