Description

The Les Vignes de Mon Oncle cuvée from Champagne Vincent Laval is a Premier Cru from Cumières, made from a blend of three Champagne grape varieties. Aged in barrels and undosed, this cuvée expresses all the purity of the Laval style: precision, vinosity, and mineral depth.

The production of Champagne Vincent Laval Les Vignes de Mon Oncle

This cuvée is the result of a blend of two vintages, created after tasting the clear wines. The aromatic objective is to create a balanced and full-bodied cuvée, where the ripe fruit of Meunier, the structure of Pinot Noir, and the tension of Chardonnay complement each other harmoniously. Barrel aging gives it a creamy texture and additional complexity.

  • Chardonnay (40%): tension, brightness, floral finesse.
  • Pinot Noir (40%): structure, depth, and fruity elegance.
  • Meunier (20%): roundness, richness, aromatic complexity.

The terroir

The grapes come from the Premier Cru terroir of Cumières, on the right bank of the Marne. The south-facing slopes enjoy optimal sunshine, while the soils, a mixture of chalk, sand and clay, promote uniform ripeness and marked minerality. The estate is certified organic, with plowing, natural grass cover and respect for biodiversity.

Vinification

Each grape variety and each vintage is vinified separately in oak barrels, with natural fermentation using indigenous yeasts. The wines were blended in February 2023, ready for bottling. The Brut Nature dosage (0 g/L) fully respects the substance and purity of the terroir.

Storage and serving

How to store this wine

Store Les Vignes de Mon Oncle at 10–12°C in a dark, stable cellar with a humidity level of around 70%. Thanks to its barrel aging and complex structure, this wine will continue to develop harmoniously for several years.

Aging potential

Aging potential: 6 to 10 years. During the first 3 years, the wine expresses a lively freshness, citrus tension, and a distinct minerality. Between 4 and 7 years, it gains in breadth with brioche and hazelnut nuances and a creamier texture. At the end of its aging period, it evolves towards a deeper maturity, carried by an elegant salinity and increased complexity.

How to serve Les Vignes de Mon Oncle?

This cuvée is best served at 10–12°C in a tulip glass or a thin universal glass. A short aeration in the glass allows the bouquet to fully open up and express the chalky nuances characteristic of Cumières.
