Dom Pérignon has now been collaborating with the art world for many years: Marc Newson, Karl Lagerfeld, David Lynch... In 2010, the house even paid tribute to the famous American artist Andy Warhol with a limited edition of its 2000 vintage.
This year, unclassifiable artist Jeff Koons brings his vision of the world and of art to Dom Pérignon, with whom he shares the same ongoing quest for excellence.
In June 2013, the artist revealed an incredible work: the Balloon Venus for Dom Pérignon. A work that symbolizes the continuity of creative energy and the rebirth of the creative act.
The Balloon Venus is a sculpture composed of balloon-shaped volumes with a pink-tinted metal appearance. Inside, it contains a suede insert for a bottle of Rosé Vintage 2003.
The result is a limited edition of Dom Pérignon Vintage 2004, a collector's edition that reinterprets the artist's codes and the codes of the inimitable Dom Pérignon bottle.
The box was designed for both Dom Pérignon Vintage 2004 and Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2003. It reproduces the Balloon Venus, whose color echoes that of the champagne: yellow for the 2004 vintage and rosé for the 2003 vintage. The liner plate matches the color of the box.
Dom Pérignon's Vintage 2004 is a generous cuvée, evolving on rich, complex notes.
The year 2004 contrasts with the very difficult year 2003. The climate was milder, allowing the vines to develop steadily and without incident. The end of summer was sunny, giving the grapes excellent ripeness.
Dom Pérignon Vintage 2004 is an inimitable champagne, elegant and racy.
The bubbles are extremely fine, and the color is a magnificent golden yellow.
The first nose reveals notes of almond and powdered cocoa, mingling with white fruit and dried flowers. On the second nose, the wine evolves towards notes of torrefaction, a sign of great maturity.
On the palate, Vintage 2004 Dom Pérignon displays remarkable balance, evolving between density and weightlessness. This is a cuvée of remarkable precision. A chiselled cuvée that stretches out on seductive, spicy and delicate notes. Remarkable!
