Since 1668, the House of Dom Pérignon has pursued its founder's dream: "to make the best wine in the world." Under the direction of Vincent Chaperon, Cellar Master since 2019, each vintage is a unique work of art born from a dialogue between nature and time. The House never produces non-vintage champagne: each cuvée bears the signature of a unique year, revealed through long aging and masterful craftsmanship.
The 2013 vintage is distinguished by a striking contrast between a cool start to the year and an exceptionally sunny summer. After a long, wet spring, the vines ripened slowly, punctuated by an ideal month of September. The harvest, which took place between September 28 and October 15, yielded perfectly ripe grapes with high acidity and rare aromatic richness. This late vintage, reminiscent of classic Champagne years, allowed Dom Pérignon to create a wineof exceptional balance and longevity.
Each plot is vinified separately, with absolute respect for the nature of the vintage. Primary fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats to preserve aromatic purity. After blending, the wine is aged on lees for nearly ten years in the cellars of the Abbaye d'Hautvillers, at a constant temperature. This long aging under cork gives the wine its legendary balance between intensity and elegance. Late disgorging guarantees optimal freshness at the moment of tasting.
Packaged in a magnum, the preferred format of connoisseurs, Dom Pérignon Vintage 2013 benefits from a slower and more harmonious evolution, promoting greater complexity. The luxurious box that accompanies it underlines the timeless dimension of champagne, ideal for an exceptional gift or to enrich a collector's cellar.
The color of Dom Pérignon Vintage 2013 is a pale gold with silvery highlights. The fine, regular effervescence forms a persistent cordon, a sign of long maturation in the cellar. The perfect clarity evokes the precision and freshness of this late vintage.
The nose reveals a striking aromatic complexity: notes of fresh mint, eucalyptus, and vetiver intertwine with mirabelle plum, dried apricot, and orange blossom. The whole is enhanced by spicy touches of pepper, cardamom, and licorice, complemented by a slightly toasted and iodized base. This bouquet illustrates the balance between depth and freshness that defines the Dom Pérignon style.
On the palate, the texture of the Dom Pérignon 2013 magnum impresses with its silky density and airy elegance. The attack is soft and precise, then the wine unfolds with amplitude, revealing flavorsof ripe citrus, yellow fruit, and fine spices. The finish, with its saline and vibrant length, expresses all the mineral tension of the vintage. The palate, both ample and straightforward, is a masterful interpretation of time and substance.
Store your Dom Pérignon Vintage 2013 magnum in its original box, away from light and temperature fluctuations, at a temperature of between 10 and 12°C. This large format guarantees slow and harmonious development, ideal for lovers of prolonged aging.
Dom Pérignon Vintage 2013 in magnum format has an aging potential of over 20 years. Over time, it will develop notes of honey, dried fruit, truffle, and blond tobacco, while preserving its mineral tension and aromatic brilliance.
Serve between 42 and 46°F in a thin tulip glass to concentrate the aromas. Gradual aeration in the glass will reveal the aromatic complexity and texture of the vintage. The magnum expresses all the depth and majesty of Dom Pérignon wine.
