Every precious drop of Krug embodies a pioneer’s visionary dream. 170 years ago, Joseph Krug, a visionary ahead of his time, understood that the true spirit of Champagne lies in pleasure. He revolutionized the world of Champagne by breaking with convention, striving each year to create the very quintessence of Champagne, thereby defying the vagaries of the weather. By honoring the uniqueness of each terroir and building a vast library of reserve wines, Joseph Krug founded the first Champagne House dedicated exclusively to prestige cuvées.

This is how La Grande Cuvée came to be; with each new release (we are now at the 171st), it challenges itself to offer the finest champagne by blending several vintages. Much later, but with the same philosophy, Krug Rosé was born—a cuvée that, like La Grande Cuvée, strives for perfection. Finally, in contrast to this approach of blending vintages, the House of Krug highlights the finest years through its Vintage cuvée, as well as its famous Clos du Mesnil and Clos d’Ambonnay.
