The Rosé Vinothèque MV16 by Veuve Fourny & Fils is a unique collector's edition. It is a testament to the artisanal expertise of this family-run estate based in Vertus, in the Côte des Blancs. Aged for over 20 years on its lees, this extra-brut rosé champagne reveals remarkable complexity and surprising freshness.
The Rosé Vinothèque MV16 cuvée comes from the best Premier Cru terroirs in Vertus. This champagne is mainly based on the 2000 harvest, enhanced by reserve wines carefully stored in small oak barrels. A refined blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir vinified as white, and a touch of Pinot Noir vinified as red, which gives this cuvée its subtle and delicate rosé character.
The grapes come from vines with an average age of 40 years, planted on rendzine soils over chalk. The viticulture is environmentally friendly, and the vinification favors the natural expression of the juices: first pressing, 7 months on lees, minimal use of sulfur, no filtration.
Rosé Vinothèque MV16 has been aged for 21 years on lees in magnums in the estate's historic 19th-century cellars. This slow maturation at a constant temperature gives the wine incomparable complexity, finesse, and structure. The extra-brut dosage (3 to 4 g/l) based on grape sugar highlights the purity and balance of this rare cuvée.
Bright light pink, slightly coppery, with a fine and elegant effervescence.
The nose opens with subtle citrus notes, delicate red fruits, dried flowers and sweet spices, with a distinctive salty touch.
The palate is both fresh and complex, with a full texture and a taut finish, marked by beautiful chalky minerality and lingering notes of dried fruit and candied citrus zest.
The Rosé Vinothèque MV16 Veuve Fourny is a rare find, intended for collectors and lovers of champagnes with very long aging potential. The price of this exceptional bottle is 59,95 €, reflecting its exceptional aging and unparalleled finesse.
This cuvée can be enjoyed now or kept for several years in the right conditions. Serve between 10 and 12°C in a tulip glass to reveal all its aromas. The Mytik Diamant cork guarantees a flawless experience, with no cork taste.
