Located in Vandières, in the heart of the Marne Valley, the Nowack Champagne House is a family-run estate whose origins date back to 1795. Now led by Flavien Nowack, the estate emphasizes an artisanal, plot-by-plot approach to best express the identity of its terroirs. The vineyard, planted primarily with Pinot Meunier and supplemented by Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, is cultivated with a particular focus on biodiversity and sustainable viticulture. The plots are situated on clay-limestone and marl soils that lend the wines freshness, tension, and depth. Flavien Nowack favors a minimalist winemaking approach: fermentation with indigenous yeasts, low dosage, extended aging, and a constant pursuit of aromatic purity.

Nowack champagnes thus stand out for their finesse, delicate texture, and great precision, making the estate a benchmark among Champagne winemakers today. Among the house’s iconic cuvées, the S.A. (“Sans Année”) cuvée offers a wonderful introduction to the Nowack style with its balance between richness and tension, carried by notes of white fruit and citrus. On a more mineral note, the Autre Cru cuvée highlights the finesse of the Marne Valley’s limestone terroirs through a precise and elegant palate. The house also offers the Tuilerie cuvée, a refined and airy Blanc de Blancs with delicate aromas of white fruit, while Les Bauchets reveals a more structured and full-bodied expression through a deep and generous Blanc de Noirs.
