The VB 03 cuvée from Elemart Robion is a fruity and expressive champagne with a lovely minerality on the palate. It is a champagne that can be enjoyed at a cocktail reception or paired with a fine gourmet dish.
The VB 03 cuvée is a blend of 70% Pinot Meunier, 20% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir, with grapes sourced exclusively from the Lhéry terroir in the Ardre Valley. The Elemart Robion vineyard is 100% converted to organic viticulture. It is mainly located in the Lhéry terroir, on sandy, clay, and limestone soils.
The VB 03 cuvée is based on the 2018 and 2017 harvests. Vinification took place in stainless steel vats, while malolactic fermentation was blocked, allowing the characteristic freshness of Champagne to be preserved and a balance to be found with the wine's deliciousness.
This champagne then spent nearly three years in the cellars of the house before being released for tasting. It is Extra Brut with 3g/L dosage.
The VB 03 Elemart Robion cuvée has a pale gold color with intense highlights.
On the nose, this cuvée immediately evokes mineral and chalky notes, which then evolve into a touch of citrus (lemon, orange) and fruit.
On the palate, this champagne opens with a smooth attack, followed by a silky texture in the mid-palate that brings out fruity aromas, but also the characteristic chalky minerality. The finish is delicately iodized, lingering on the palate for several seconds.
The VB 03 cuvée is best enjoyed as an aperitif, but also pairs beautifully with shellfish (prawns, lobster, etc.) or even white meat such as pork tenderloin. It is also a wine that goes very well with well-aged hard cheeses.
