Description

The 2020 vintage of Champagne Elemart Robion is a rare and luminous interpretation of the Petit Meslier grape variety. Made from a single vineyard and a single grape variety, this exclusive champagne brilliantly reflects the house's artisanal philosophy. With its lemony liveliness and salty tension, it will appeal to lovers of unique and elegant champagnes.

A rare grape variety for an exceptional cuvée

Champagne PM 2020 is made from Petit Meslier, an ancient and little-known grape variety grown on a single plot called Les Vieilles Vignes, located in Lhéry, in the Ardre Valley. This terroir rests on Middle Lutetian limestone and enjoys a southwestern exposure at an altitude of between 150 and 162 meters. The vines are cultivated organically, with respect for the soil and biodiversity.

The 2020 vintage was characterized by hot, dry weather conditions, promoting rapid ripening and beautiful aromatic concentration in the grapes. The harvest yielded perfectly ripe Petit Meslier grapes, resulting in a cuvée bursting with freshness.

Precise and respectful vinification

The PM 2020 cuvée was vinified in stainless steel vats, with malolactic fermentation carried out to round out the aromas. It was then aged for seven months on lees in oak barrels before being bottled the following spring. Punching down allows the lees to be put back into suspension, adding complexity and texture. Disgorging was carried out without adding sugar (Brut Nature) in order to preserve the purity of the wine.
