This magnum of Carte d'Or is the result of a blend dominated by 80% Pinot Noir, the estate's flagship grape variety, which gives it structure and richness. Chardonnay (15%) adds a touch of finesse, while Meunier (5%) adds a hint of roundness. This blend of grape varieties comes from vines planted on the limestone soils of the Jurassic Kimmeridgian in the Aube region, which give the wine a distinctive minerality and unique aromatic intensity.
This champagne is made exclusively from the first pressing to guarantee the purity of the juice. Vinification takes place in stainless steel vats to preserve freshness, but a small portion (5%) is aged in oak barrels, adding subtle complexity to the aromatic profile. A significant proportion of reserve wines, up to 40%, is blended in, offering remarkable depth. The balanced dosage of 6.5 g/L enhances the freshness and intensity of the cuvée.
Carte d'Or in magnum has an intense golden color with bright highlights. The fine, persistent bubbles form a delicate mousse.
The bouquet offers aromas of stone fruits such as peach, evolving towards notes of gourmet pastries. A subtle spicy touch and hints of honey enrich the nose, revealing a fascinating complexity as the wine breathes.
On the palate, Carte d'Or reveals a full and generous structure, with flavors of quince and honey. The finish is lingering, slightly spicy, and offers the freshness and minerality characteristic of this terroir.
The magnum is a particularly popular format for champagne, as it allows for slower, more harmonious aging, preserving freshness and developing the aromas in all their complexity. Ideal for special occasions and moments of sharing, it serves around 15 flutes.
The price of a magnum of Carte d’Or Drappier is 84,95 €. This price reflects the care taken at every stage of production, from the vine to the glass, as well as the exclusivity of this beautiful format.
