      Description

The Carte d'Or cuvée from Champagne Drappier is a fruity, slightly vinous and fresh champagne. It is ideal for cocktails or as an aperitif. It embodies the authenticity and richness of the Côte des Bar terroirs.

The production of Carte d'Or Drappier champagne

The Carte d'Or cuvée reflects the family expertise of Champagne Drappier, which has been run by the same family since 1808. This wine is a blend of 80% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay, and 5% Meunier. The majority of the Pinot Noir comes from vines planted on the limestone soils of the Jurassic Kimmeridgian terroir in the Aube region of southern Champagne. This unique terroir gives this cuvée its structure and characteristic aromas.

The Carte d'Or Drappier cuvée is made exclusively from the first pressing, which yields the purest juices. The wines are then vinified and aged in stainless steel vats for the most part, but 5% of the wines are aged in wood. This adds a touch of complexity and unique aromatic depth. Malolactic fermentation is carried out naturally. Finally, 40% of the blend comes from reserve wines, which also bring aromatic richness that balances the wine's beautiful freshness. A dosage of 6.5 g/l is added after disgorging to perfectly balance this cuvée.

      Tasting notes

      • Appearance

Carte d'Or has a bright golden color, revealing the richness of its blend. The bubbles are fine and regular, forming a delicate and persistent mousse.

      • Nose

On the nose, this cuvée is very elegant, with notes of stone fruits such as white peach from the vineyards. After a few moments, it evolves towards more indulgent aromas of pastries. A spicy note completes the bouquet, revealing increasing complexity as it opens up.

      • Palate

On the palate, a spicy note heralds a powerful and complex mouthfeel. This vinous champagne is highly complex with a characteristic touch of quince jelly.
