The creation of Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2010 – Murakami Edition

      An exceptional vintage

The 2010 vintage will go down in history as one of the most complex in modern Champagne. After a harsh winter and a mild spring, a hot and stormy summer put the vines to the test. The intense rains of August required a drastic selection of the grapes, keeping only the healthiest and most concentrated ones. This rigor resulted in a champagne of exceptional purity, revealing a rare tension and energy. Dom Pérignon has transformed these climatic challenges into a vibrant expression of balance and grace.

      Blend

      • Pinot Noir brings structure, vinosity, and aromatic intensity. Part of it is vinified as red wine, giving the champagne its pink color and deep red fruit aromas.
      • Chardonnay brings finesse, tension, and mineral brightness, balancing the density of Pinot Noir with its freshness and natural luminosity.

      Vinification and aging

Each plot is vinified separately in order to express the diversity of the House's grands crus. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, then part of the Pinot Noir is vinified as red wine using traditional methods. This plot-by-plot vinification gives the rosé its chromatic depth and velvety texture.

Aging on fine lees lasts for nearly 12 years, ensuring harmonious development and perfect integration of aromas. This long aging process gives the wine its satiny structure and aromatic profile of rare intensity. Late disgorging preserves all the freshness of the fruit and the precision of the vintage.

An artistic edition in a collector's box

Presented in an exclusive box designed by Takashi Murakami, Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2010 becomes a true artistic manifesto. Murakami's famous multicolored smiling flowers symbolize joy and rebirth, perfectly echoing the Dom Pérignon philosophy: creating harmony through the tension of opposites. The collector's box magnifies this exceptional champagne, designed as a work of art, both sensory and visual, intended for aesthetes and collectors.

      Tasting notes

      • Color

The color is a deep coppery pink with amber and coral highlights. The fine, persistent effervescence reveals a creamy texture and restrained energy, the signature of long aging on lees.

      • Nose

The nose expresses itself with subtle power. It opens with aromas of wild strawberry, orange peel, and cocoa, before revealing floral notes of dried rose and peony. With aeration, hints of sweet spices, smoke, and blond tobacco add complexity to the whole. The aromatic expression combines intensity, precision, and delicacy.

      • Palate

The palate is full-bodied, velvety, and harmonious. The attack reveals a silky tension, then the wine blossoms into a generous volume, structured by black fruit and blood citrus. The texture is airy, while retaining an underlying density. The finish is long and chiseled, leaving an impressionof spices, pink pepper, and candied zest, in a perfect balance between power and elegance.

      Storage and serving tips

      Storage

Store the champagne in its collector's box, away from light and temperature fluctuations, at a temperature of between 10 and 12°C. This box preserves the purity and integrity of the wine while enhancing its artistic and symbolic character.

      Aging potential

Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2010 – Murakami Edition has an aging potential of 20 years or more. Over time, it will develop nuances of fig, honey, and sweet spices, while retaining its fruity brightness and characteristic saline tension.

      Serving

Serve between 10 and 11°C in a fine tulip glass to express the wine's complexity and silky texture. Avoid decanting; simply aerating the wine in the glass will reveal the subtlety of the bouquet and the depth of the vintage.
