The House of Deutz was founded in Ay in 1838 by William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann, two young and enterprising Prussian immigrants. Over the years, the House expanded with the acquisition of several parcels of Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards and an international outlook. The reputation of Deutz Champagnes quickly spread beyond France. Today, the Deutz House is distinguished by the remarkable quality of its cuvées, and the "Deutz style" is appreciated worldwide for its elegance and finesse.
The Deutz House offers a range of champagnes with very fine bubbles, marked by a beautiful vinosity that comes from the dominance of Pinot in the blends. The Brut Classic is characteristic of the Deutz style, with a fresh attack, followed by a fruit-dominated palate and always that little touch of vinosity. The Brut Rosé is remarkably delicious and refined, while the vintages are distinguished by their complexity and ability to age well. The William Deutz cuvée develops great richness supported by a smooth palate, while the Amour cuvée evolves in a rounder and more complex style.
