      Description

The William Deutz 2014 vintage is an exceptional year, born from a harvest that saw contrasting weather conditions but ultimately ideal conditions. This iconic cuvée, presented here in a gift box, embodies the elegance, richness, and generosity of the Deutz style, with a touch of rare complexity characteristic of great Champagne years.

      The 2014 vintage in Champagne

After a very rainy winter, the mild, dry spring favored harmonious flowering. The cool, damp summer slowed down the growing cycle, causing some concern. Fortunately, September brought sunshine and warmth, allowing the grapes to ripen beautifully. The harvest took place in perfect conditions, producing healthy, well-balanced grapes. The 2014 vintage is distinguished by its harmony, aromatic richness and aging potential.

The production of William Deutz 2014 champagne

A refined blend of Pinot Noir (67%) from the terroirs of Aÿ, Bouzy and Verzenay, Chardonnay (28%) from Avize, Mesnil, Chouilly and Villers-Marmery, and Pinot Meunier (5%) from the Chamery terroir. Each grape variety was carefully vinified to express the typical characteristics of its terroir. The wine was then aged for a long time on lees to develop complexity, finesse and depth.

      Tasting notes

      • Appearance

Bright, brilliant gold, with fine, regular effervescence.

      • Nose

Sunny and very expressive, it combines ripe yellow fruits (peach, apricot, mango), pastry notes (mirabelle plum tart), acacia honey, hints of blond tobacco, spices, and candied ginger.

      • Palate

Clean and straightforward attack. Velvety texture, perfect balance between acidity and roundness. The yellow fruit aromas are confirmed and the delicious finish lingers on notesof candied citrus and chocolate.
