      Description

Cuvée William Deutz 2014 is an exceptional vintage, born of a harvest with contrasting but ultimately ideal weather conditions. This emblematic cuvée, presented here in a bottle with box, embodies the elegance, richness and generosity of the Deutz style, with a rare touch of complexity typical of great Champagne years.

      Vintage 2014 in Champagne

After a very wet winter, the mild, dry spring favored harmonious flowering. The cool, wet summer slowed the vegetative cycle, giving cause for concern. Fortunately, September brought sunshine and warmth, allowing the grapes to ripen nicely. The harvest took place in perfect conditions, offering healthy, well-balanced grapes. The 2014 vintage stands out for its harmony, aromatic richness and ageing potential.

How William Deutz 2014 champagne is made

A refined blend of Pinot Noir (67%) from the terroirs of Aÿ, Bouzy and Verzenay, Chardonnay (28%) from Avize, Mesnil, Chouilly and Villers-Marmery, and Pinot Meunier (5%) from the Chamery terroir. Each grape variety was carefully vinified to express the typicity of its terroir. The wine is then aged for a long time on lees to develop complexity, finesse and depth.

      Tasting the cuvée

      • Color

Bright, brilliant gold, with a fine, even effervescence.

      • Nose

Sunny and very expressive, blending ripe yellow fruit (peach, apricot, mango), pastry notes (mirabelle plum tart), acacia honey, hints of blond tobacco, spices and candied ginger.

      • Palate

Clean, straightforward attack. Velvety texture, perfect balance between acidity and roundness. Yellow fruit aromas are confirmed, and the gourmet finish stretches to notes ofcandied citrus and chocolate.
