The 2008 Rosé Vintage produced by Maison Charles Heidsieck is an expressive and delicious cuvée, offering the perfect balance between the freshness and fullness of the grapes that are so characteristic of the 2008 vintage.
The 2008 vintage is one of the most successful of the last 20 years in Champagne. The climate was contrasting, with sunshine and cool temperatures. The harvest took place under sunny skies with relatively cool temperatures, allowing the grapes to ripen and remain very healthy. The wines are characterized by their freshness, tension, purity, salinity, finesse, and aromatic precision.
This blended rosé is made from Pinot Noir (63%), Chardonnay (37%) and red wine (9%), selected from 11 Grands and Premiers Crus: Ay, Ludes, Ambonnay, Tauxières, Avenay, Bouzy, Verzy, Les Riceys, Oger, Cuis, Chouilly, and Vertus. This cuvée has been aged for over 10 years in the cellars of the Maison.
This 2008 rosé occupies a special place in the house's line of vintage rosés with its exceptional longevity, which will take it to its peak over the next 25 years.
This 2008 Vintage Rosé has a superb pale pink color.
The first nose is salty and mineral with smoky and toasted accents. The bouquet then opens up to aromas of citrus, pink grapefruit, blood orange and redcurrants. The fruitiness is discreet with more intense notes of morello cherry, licorice and black tea that will reveal themselves over time.
The palate is massive with a liveliness that is typical of the 2008 vintage. The finish is long and creamy with a fine, delicate effervescence.
This 2008 Rosé Millésimé from Maison Charles Heidsieck will enhance a citrus and sweet spice-glazed duck, a fillet of swordfish roasted with oyster sauce, or a mature Epoisses cheese.Pinot Noir (54%)Chardonnay (37%)Vin rouge de Champagne (9%)
