Description
The Blanc de Blancs from Billecart-Salmon is devised from Chardonnay selected from each of the five Grands Crus of the Côte des Blancs : Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger, and is the result of blending two different vintages. It is the pure expression of all the specificities of Chardonnay.
Strongly anchored in tradition, such as the use of barrels for the grand crus, Billecart-Salmon age their bottles in an extended network of caves cut out of the chalk hills, dating from the 17th and 19th century. The constant temperature – around 12°, enables a very fine effervescence to develop.
Billecart-Salmon Blanc de Blancs presents a fine mousse with very delicate bubbles which complement the golden hues of the robe.
The nose surprises with its aromas of almond mingled with white fleshed fruits.
The palate is complex and powerful with an agreeable vinosity. The final is fresh and elegant.
