The 2015 TC vintage by Jean-Pierre Vazart is a brand new cuvée that is unique in that it is vinified and aged in ovoid terracotta vats (hence the name TC).
This is a Blanc de Blancs champagne, made from Chardonnays from the Grand Cru terroir of Chouilly. They are vinified in ovoid terracotta vats, which provide both micro-oxygenation of the wine and resuspension of the lees. These two elements promote the development of aromas.
The 2015 Vazart-Coquart TC cuvée was bottled with cork, again with the aim of bringing out the wine's expressiveness.
Each bottle is then disgorged by hand and dosed with Extra Brut (2.5 grams per liter).
This champagne has a straw-gold color with delicate bubbles.
The first nose reveals notes of yellow stone fruits (peach, apricot). A touch of honey offers a broad and generous expression and the sensation of a beautiful finish, through which time has worked its magic to acquire a creamy and indulgent density. Crisp on the palate, the fruit is very present, accompanied by light notes of salted butter caramel. After a few more minutes, notes of fine chalk and candied yellow zest finally emerge.
On the palate, this is a cuvée with a fine, precise texture. The mineral notes are clearly present, followed by aromas of yellow and tropical fruits. The ripeness is perfectly mastered, as the hint of acidity seems intact. The finish is decisive and ultra-mouthwatering, leaving a delicious impression of a soil that is both rich and fresh, with beautiful bitter notes.
