Cuvée Camille | Bottle 75cl

Cuvée Camille from the house of Vazart-Coquart is a rich, intense champagne which has the distinction of being the only one of their champagnes (except the rosé) which is not a Blanc de Blancs, as it is made with 70% Chardonnay from the Grand Cru terroir of Chouilly, but also 30% Pinot Noir (30%) from a Premier Cru parcel baptised « Les Grandes Terres ». 25% of the blend comes from reserve wines of a solera begun in 1982.

Vazart-Coquart have selected the grapes for this cuvee from old vines with an average age of 30 years. After a maturing period of 2 years in the cellars the Cuvée Camille is disgorged and then dosed at 7,5g/L.

Cuvée Camille is pale gold with delicate green glints.

Its bubbles are fine and lively, forming an elegant chain.

The first wave of aromas on the nose are biscuity, with a touch of preserved lemon, peach, Sichuan pepper, almond paste and apple, becoming more complex with notes of blueberry, lime blossom, blackcurrant and peppermint developing.

Supple and fresh in the mouth, with a creamy effervescence and aromas of white fruits and very ripe red fruit which are underscored by a fresh minerality, notes of brine and citrus fruits.

The final is fruity and graceful with a touch of liquorice.

Only 3500 bottles of the Cuvée Camille were produced.
