The 2017 Rosé vintage from Louis Roederer, presented in a bottle with a case, is a delicately infused expression of the finest Pinot Noir grapes from Cumières. This rosé champagne reveals a caressing fruitiness with aromas of strawberries and citrus fruits, perfect for enhancing a refined aperitif or accompanying dishes with spicy and iodine notes.
The 2017 Rosé cuvée from Louis Roederer is the result of meticulous production designed to reveal the purest essence of Pinot Noir from Cumières. This rosé champagne is not a simple blend, but a true work of infusion that gives it an incomparable texture and freshness.
The cuvée is made from:
The 2017 Rosé cuvée is made from grapes grown in Cumières and Chouilly, in the "Rivière" vineyard owned by Louis Roederer. Cumières, on the banks of the Marne, is renowned for its ripe, expressive and salty Pinot Noir grapes. Chouilly, in the Côte des Blancs, is famous for its crystalline and elegant Chardonnays. This dual origin allows for a remarkable balance between concentration and liveliness.
This champagne is vinified using the rosé d'infusion method: the Pinot Noir grapes are gently macerated to extract the fruit without excess tannins, then some Chardonnay juice is added before fermentation. This co-fermentation creates perfect aromatic harmony. 29% of the wines are aged in wood to add complexity to the profile. 24% undergoes malolactic fermentation, softening the wine's contours. The dosage is 8 g/L, perfectly balancing richness and freshness.
2017 was a difficult year in Champagne, marked by historic spring frosts and a summer with little sunshine. However, a hot and humid end to August allowed for rapid but risky ripening. Thanks to rigorous selection and an accelerated harvest (from August 31 to September 9), Louis Roederer was able to extract the best from its Pinot Noir grapes. This vintage thus reveals the House's virtuosity in mastering the vagaries of the weather to create an exceptional cuvée.
The Rosé 2017 has a bright pink color with copper highlights, illuminated by fine, regular effervescence.
The nose reveals intense expressions of wild berries (strawberries, wild raspberries), blood orange and powdery floral notes (rose, macaroon). With aeration, chocolate and resinous nuances andsubtle iodine accents emerge.
On the palate, this champagne offers a silky, delicate and elegant texture. The concentrated fruitiness in the mid-palate is almost liqueur-like. The finish is long, pure, iodine-laced and slightly chocolatey, prolonging the wine's elegance with remarkable mineral freshness.
To best preserve the Louis Roederer Rosé 2017 cuvée in its case, store it horizontally in a cool (10-12°C), dark place away from vibrations. The case acts as a protective barrier against light, which helps preserve the aromas and finesse of the bubbles.
Thanks to its careful production and aromatic balance, this cuvée can be enjoyed until 2027. The 2017 vintage is more delicate and best enjoyed young. However, careful storage will allow the wine to gain complexity over time.
This 2017 rosé champagne from Roederer is perfect for many occasions. It will shine as an elegant aperitif, add a touch of refinement to a meal with friends, and make a distinguished gift thanks to its presentation in a case. It is also ideal for romantic meals or spring celebrations.
The 2017 Rosé vintage is a testament to Roederer's expertise in dealing with the vagaries of the weather. Thegentle infusion of Pinot Noir with Chardonnay juice is a rare technique in Champagne and givesthis rosé its unique identity, which is both rich and salty.
The price of the 2017 Rosé Louis Roederer in a bottle with case is 91,95 €. This price reflects the rigorous selection of the vintage, the rarity of the infusion method, and the expertise of a great house.
