      Description

The Louis Roederer Rosé 2013 Champagne in magnum with gift box embodies the precision and delicacy of a classic vintage of freshness. Produced using the exclusive "infusion" method developed by the House, it combines the richness of Pinot Noir from Cumières with the purity of Chardonnay from Chouilly. An exceptional rosé, luminous, refined and vibrant, made for aging.

Presented in a magnum with a gift box, this champagne perfectly illustrates the Roederer style: balance, tension, and harmony. Four years of slow maturation on lees reveal a satiny texture and a mouthwatering length. The expression of a great terroir rosé, full-bodied, fresh, and precise.

The production of Louis Roederer Rosé 2013

The House of Roederer has developed a unique method for its rosé champagnes: infusion. Some Chardonnay juice is poured into a Pinot Noir maceration so that the two ferment together. This approach allows the flesh and color of the grape to be extracted while retaining a crystalline freshness and silky texture.

      • 67% Pinot Noir from Cumières: structure, red fruits, spices, restrained power.
      • 33% Chardonnay from Chouilly: straightforwardness, tension, salty length.

      The terroir

The Pinot Noirs come from the early-ripening, clay-limestone terroir of Cumières, facing south, providing substance and juicy fruit. The Chardonnays come from Chouilly Grand Cru, north of the Côte des Blancs, which lends freshness and verticality. The combination of these two origins creates a balance between opulence and energy.

This 2013 rosé fully expresses the vintage's freshness: ripe grapes, straightforward acidity, fine tension, and natural elegance.

      Vinification

The maceration of the Pinot Noirs is carefully controlled before adding a proportion of Chardonnay for joint fermentation. Approximately 33% of the wines are vinified in wood, while only 22% undergo malolactic fermentation. Long aging in the bottle, for four years on lees, is followed by six months of rest after disgorging. The dosage is adjusted to 8 g/l, emphasizing the balance between liveliness and sweetness.

      The 2013 vintage

2013 was a late and demanding vintage. After a long winter and a timid spring, flowering did not occur until July. The summer was sunny and dry, allowing for slow and even ripening. The harvest in October was cool and bright, producing elegant and taut wines—great Champagne classics.

The Pinot Noirs offer ripe, spicy richness, while the Chardonnays add freshness and brightness. The result is a vibrant, deep rosé perfect for fine dining.

Tasting notes for Louis Roederer Rosé 2013

      • Color

Bright light pink with salmon-colored highlights. Fine, regular, and calm effervescence. The wine shines with its clarity and visual liveliness.

      • Nose

Complex and refined bouquet. Wild strawberries, raspberries and citrus zest mingle with menthol and salty notes. Aeration reveals hazelnut, toasted almond and a hint of smoke typical of Pinot Noir from Cumières.

      • Palate

A soft, enveloping attack with great freshness. The body unfolds with ample volume, then refines into a satiny texture. Red fruits melt into a salty tension and light notes of cocoa. The finish is long, pure, and infinitely elegant.

      Food pairing suggestions

      Storage and serving

      Storing this magnum

Store the 2013 Rosé magnum in its original box, away from light and temperature fluctuations. Ideal temperature between 40 and 50°F, humidity 70%. Lay the bottle down to keep the cork supple. The size of the magnum guarantees slow and harmonious development.

      Aging potential

Drinking window: 2025–2035. The structure of the 2013 and the magnum size ensure long aging potential. The wine will gain in aromatic complexity, blending dried fruit, spices, and mineral salinity.

      Serving

Serve at 10°C in tulip glasses. Avoid decanting. Allow to breathe for a few minutes after opening. This rosé reveals its full elegance between tension and softness, especially when served in a magnum.

      Anecdote about this cuvée

The 2013 Rosé illustrates the art of infusion devised by Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon. By combining Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes during fermentation, Louis Roederer has created a unique style: a vibrant, unpretentious rosé that speaks the language of chalk and fruit. In magnum format, it gains in amplitude and saline length, while retaining its brilliance.
