The Roederer house has decided to open up its cellar and offer a few bottles of one of the most legendary vintages of the Cuvée Cristal in its history: the 2002 vintage.
2002 was an extraordinary year, with absolutely perfect weather conditions: mild winter, hot but not excessive summer, and cool nights and dry winds in August and September. This resulted in grapes of ideal ripenesś, with a beautiful concentration of flavors.
Cristal 2002 is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. This cuvée from the Roederer oenotheque offers a different vision thanks to the additional 9 years spent in the cellar. The 9 years since the original disgorgement allow us to deliver another expression of Cristal, one where the textures on the finish recall some Burgundian accents.
On the nose, this cuvée offers intense fruity, zesty, toasty, vanilla and almost truffle notes that are extremely seductive.
On the palate, this cuvée offers a silky, caressing attack with the grain and volume of the wine.
The finish is mineral and fresh, lingering for long seconds.
