      Description

The magnum of Champagne Pol Roger's2002 Vintage Vinothèque transcends the timeless elegance of this great vintage. This generous format magnifies the complex aromas and depth of this exceptional cuvée. A sublime magnum, to be reserved for special occasions.

The production of the Pol Roger Vintage 2002 Vinothèque magnum

The Vintage 2002 Vinothèque cuvée, available in magnum format, is a meticulous blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, sourced exclusively from villages classified as Grands Crus and Premiers Crus in the Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs regions.

The 2002 vintage, considered one of the best of the decade, benefited from ideal weather conditions, with harvests under bright sunshine ensuring perfect ripeness of the grapes. Malolactic fermentation, carried out naturally, is followed by prolonged aging on lees in the deep cellars of the Pol Roger house. This Brut cuvée, dosed at 7 g/L, reveals a subtle balance between aromatic richness and freshness.

      Exceptional aging

The Vinothèque cuvée, available in magnum format, is a special selection from the Pol Roger house. Stored in the darkness and coolness of the deep cellars of Épernay, this cuvée has benefited from an optimal environment to develop exceptional complexity and depth while preserving its initial freshness.

      The advantages of the magnum

The magnum offers ideal aging conditions thanks to its low oxygen/volume ratio, allowing for harmonious development and optimal preservation of aromas. This generous format is perfect for special occasions, serving around 15 flutes.

      Storing this champagne

To fully enjoy this exceptional magnum, store it in a dark, cool cellar at a stable temperature of 62-68°F. This cuvée can be enjoyed now, but it will continue to improve for several more years, offering fascinating aromatic developments.

Presentation of Damien Cambres - Cellar Master

“Disgorged at the same time as the bottles sold during the initial launch of the cuvée, this exceptional wine has continued to age in absolutely ideal conditions, as it has never left our cellars! This extraordinary aging period under the Avenue de Champagne in Epernay has given rise to a new expression of this wine, which combines power and freshness in perfect harmony. Please note that these are very small quantities, whose relevance is more emotional than financial. Of course, there will still be treasures in the cellar that cannot be bought, and that is just fine."
