      Description

The 2002 Vintage Vinothèque from Pol Roger champagne embodies the timeless elegance of the great vintages from the Épernay-based champagne house. With its complex aromas and long, mineral finish, this unique cuvée is perfect for celebrating exceptional moments.

The production of Pol Roger's Vintage 2002 Vinothèque

The Vintage 2002 Vinothèque cuvée is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, sourced exclusively from villages classified as Grands Crus and Premiers Crus in the Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs regions. These exceptional grapes are carefully selected to ensure optimal quality.

The 2002 vintage, considered one of the most remarkable of the decade, benefited from perfect weather conditions. The harvest took place under bright sunshine, ensuring ideal ripeness of the grapes. Malolactic fermentation is carried out naturally, followed by prolonged aging on lees in the deep cellars of the house. This champagne is dosed at 7 g/L, providing a subtle balance between freshness and richness.

      Exceptional aging

The Vinothèque cuvée is made from a selection reserved in the Pol Roger cellars. These bottles have benefited from optimal storage conditions in the darkness and coolness of the Épernay cellars, without movement or temperature variations. This process allows us to offer a wine of exceptional complexity and depth, while preserving its initial freshness.

Presentation of Damien Cambres - Cellar Master

“Disgorged at the same time as the bottles sold during the initial launch of the cuvée, this exceptional wine has continued to age in absolutely ideal conditions, as it has never left our cellars! This extraordinary aging period under the Avenue de Champagne in Epernay has given rise to a new expression of this wine, which combines power and freshness in perfect harmony. Please note that these are very small quantities, whose relevance is more emotional than financial. Of course, there will still be treasures in the cellar that cannot be bought, and that is just fine."
