Description

The Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill 2002 by Pol Roger is truly a champagne of exception, a veritable piece of history.

2002 is the greatest vintage that Champagne has known in the last 15 years, combining finesse, freshness and immense ageing potential.

The Sir Winston Churchill blend is a closely guarded secret. All that we know is that it is an alliance of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, both of which come from Grand Cru terroirs.

It is vinified in stainless steel vats and undergoes malolactic fermentation, as do all of the champagnes from Pol Roger.

The cuvée Sir Winston Churchill from Pol Roger was created in homage to the famous British politician, who was a fervent and grand connoisseur of Pol Roger champagnes: "My tastes are simple: I am easily satisfied with the best" he would say. The cuvée that carries his name would not have disappointed him.

The Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill 2002 Pol Roger gleams intensely gold, with a myriad of fine and lively bubbles.

The nose of incomparable freshness is at first a bouquet of citrus fruits, especially lime, with more buttery, toasted notes appearing after a moment intermingled with candied fruit and dried fruits.

Power goes hand in hand with delicacy on the palate, in the same aromatic register as the nose.

The finish, absolutely sensational, intense and vibrant, is the signature of this extraordinary vintage 2002.
