The Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill was created as a tribute to the famous British politician.

The Cuvée is consistently made in the style he favored: robust, full-bodied and mature.

'My tastes are simple: I am easily satisfied with the best.' as he often liked to say. This vintage would have not disappointed him.

The Cuvée is composed only of the finest grapes from the very best vineyards of Pinot and Chardonnay.

The summer of 1999 was quite cold, but the season from May until the harvest passed without notable incident. The vendange, perhaps the rains which were more than double the average, was exceptional with very healthy grapes from an abundant crop with good maturity.

The 1999 Sir Winston Churchill cuvée has a rich gold hue with amber nuances and tiny bubbles.

It opens with an intriguing blond tobacco nose, with buttery and almond milk notes.

It is a wine full of character, with a wonderful contrast between layers of wild violet, liquorices, wood and leather, with a subtle tinge of iodine.

In the mouth, this wine balances a generous expression of fruit with a delicate minerality that evokes salt.

The final follows with both power and pinpoint insistence.
