Cuvée Vintage 2012, produced by Piper-Heidsieck, is the remarkable expression of a sunny vintage. The year 2012 was marked by numerous climatic hazards, with frost in winter and hail in spring, but a very sunny summer enabled optimal ripening of the grapes and superb aromatic concentration. The elegance of the Chardonnays and the power of the Pinots Noirs produce generous, perfectly balanced wines.
Vintage 2012 is a champagne made with 52% Pinot Noir and 48% Chardonnay, from 12 crus, two-thirds of which are Grands Crus and Premiers Crus, with only the Cœur de Cuvée selected.
This champagne is vinified and aged in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats. This cuvée benefits from a minimum of 5 years' extended aging on the lees to enhance and develop its aromatic bouquet, and the wine is dosed Brut, at 8 g/L.
Cuvée Vintage 2012 is an expressive, silky, sun-drenched vintage with aromas of apricot, vine peach, tangerine and mango, as well as subtle honeysuckle blossom, gingerbread and cocoa. On the palate, the texture is round and structured, marked by a persistent finish of delicate freshness.
This cuvée Vintage 2012 expresses the Piper-Heidsieck style while being sublimated by this vintage. With its incredible aromatic bouquet, it will embellish refined, flavorful and assertive cuisine such as scallops, lentils and smoked hay emulsion; beef fillet en croûte and foie gras sauce; white truffle risotto or 36-month Comté cheese and truffled Brie.
