The Hugues de Coulmet cuvée from Pierre Moncuit is a round and elegant Blanc de Blancs champagne.
It is made from grapes grown in the Sezanne region, which explains its more enveloping and rounded character compared to the rest of the Pierre Moncuit range.
This cuvée is vinified in stainless steel vats to preserve all the freshness and finesse of the Chardonnay.
Tasting
By Patrick BorrasThe Hugues de Coulmet cuvée from Pierre Moncuit is a champagne with a golden yellow color and light yellow highlights. It is a cuvée dotted with fine, intense bubbles.
The nose is discreet, then opens up to very fresh aromas of citrus fruits, grapefruit, and lemon. Slightly iodine-tinged mineral aromas round out the aromatic palette.
On the palate, it has a clean, lively attack, full of freshness, carried by beautiful mineral notes with a hint of saltiness.
The Hugues de Coulmet cuvée is a champagne that I recommend serving as an aperitif or with seafood. I suggest enjoying this cuvée at a temperature of 9°C.
