Intense, elegant, and distinguished, Philipponnat's 2019 Blanc de Noirs cuvée reveals all the power and finesse of Pinot Noir. This cuvée is made exclusively from grapes selected from the Montagne de Reims and the Marne Valley (Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and Avenay), offering unique aromatic complexity and remarkable purity.
Ideal as an aperitif or with a meal, it pairs beautifully with refined dishes and delicate foods. Its meticulous vinification and Extra-Brut dosage of 4.25 g/L guarantee balance, freshness, and intensity.
The cuvée is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes from the Premiers and Grands Crus of the Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne. Only the first pressing is used, guaranteeing concentration and finesse. Part of the wine is vinified in stainless steel vats and the rest in oak barrels. Some of the wines do not undergo malolactic fermentation, preserving their freshness and aromatic purity.
The winter of 2019 alternated between mild and cold periods with early sunshine. Spring was unstable with night frosts and rain, while the hot and sunny summer, punctuated by cool nights, allowed for optimal ripening. The harvest from September 11 to 21 yielded perfectly balanced grapes, heralding a harmonious and concentrated vintage.
The grapes come from the iconic vineyards of the Montagne de Reims, Avenay, Aÿ, and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, with limestone soils and favorable exposure for Pinot Noir. These terroirs bring structure, finesse, and minerality, essential to the style of Blanc de Noirs.
Aged for five to six years on lees in the historic cellars of Maison Philipponnat, allowing the wine to develop complexity, texture, and length on the palate while retaining freshness and liveliness.
Golden color with pink highlights, fine and persistent effervescence typical of Pinot Noir.
Complex and floral nose, notes of violet, acacia flowers, then apricot, strawberry, and morello cherry, accompanied by slightly toasted nuances.
Full-bodied and delicious attack, notes of wild berries, fresh and elegant finish, with slight hints of spice, aniseed, and licorice.
Store the bottle horizontally, away from light and temperature fluctuations, ideally between 10–12°C. Avoid vibrations and excessive humidity to preserve the wine's aromatic finesse and freshness.
The 2019 Blanc de Noirs cuvée can be enjoyed now for its freshness and balance, or kept for 5 to 10 years to develop more complex nuances of red fruits, flowers, and spices while retaining its liveliness.
Serve between 44°F and46°F as an aperitif and 50°F to 54°F with a meal, in a tulip glass or thin flute, to fully release the cuvée's aromatic expression.
