Cuvée Belle Epoque 2007 is a subtle champagne that perfectly illustrates Perrier-Jouët's expertise . Composed of 50% Chardonnay from the Grands Crus of Cramant and Avize, 45% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and 5% Pinot Meunier, this new Cuvée stands out for its light, crystalline expression of generosity.
The fruit of a meeting between cellar master Hervé Deschamps and the young Viennese design duo Katharina Mischer and Thomas Traxler, this exceptional bottle features a distinctive decor. White butterflies intertwined with harmonious arabesques evoke the lightness and delicacy of the winemaking process. Over a period of 6 years, this champagne is carefully matured in the silent, sumptuous atmosphere of the white chalk cellars.
The 2007 vintage is surprisingly generous. A mild winter followed by a spring with weather conditions that were highly conducive to grape development, resulting in a rich, premature harvest.
The wine's limpid, pale gold color reveals a fine, lively effervescence.
The first nose is deliciously floral. A true alliance between honeysuckle and magnolia, it offers freshness enhanced by citrus aromas and a hint of minerality. More gourmand notes of ripe pear and peach enhance the second nose.
On the palate, the attack is frank and marked by fragrances of white fruit combined with almond. The finish is persistent and crystalline.
